Empire Eats supports Haitian Relief
Today, Tuesday, all of the Empire Eats restaurants in Raleigh will donate all sales to relief in Haiti. This is a great way to support the people of Haiti who are suffering after a devastating earthquake. While we love the food at all of the participating restaurants my young children don't love crowds. I am hoping the response to this incredible offer will be tremendous. My family will eat at home and donate the cost of a nice dinner out to the American Red Cross. I'll be sure to visit Sitti or The Morning Times later this week!

- Friday Feb. 5th: We're having a reception for the new Steampunk Jewelry book contributors at Ornamentea on Friday, February the 5th. We'll have great food, good wine and many of the artists will be selling their work. This is a great chance to get your book signed and show off your own Steampunk style.
- Friday Feb. 12th: join us as we host a reception for artist Kathy King to celebrate her new book, Bead Quilled Jewelry. This book turns beadweaving on it's head, literally. Come see samples of Kathy's work and get your book signed at Ornamentea from 6:30-8:00 pm on February 12th.

Look for a project idea using some of our new pin and button cast findings. These are made for us in the U.S.A. with lead-free pewter and jewelry-safe platings. I'll have a bracelet and maybe a few earrings ideas...the sewing-themed findings are already available at Panopolie and Ornamentea, just ask.
Also this week, look for photos of trains. Yeah, trains. It is amazing what you can do with beady parts!
