May 12, 2010: crafts and chickens, who needs anything else?

Hello-
Ahh, I am crazy-busy this week. We are showing off our coop in the Henside the Beltline Tour-de-Coop on Saturday and I have been up until all hours getting my hens groomed just so. So far, they didn't mind the blow dryer but the eyelash curlers drove them crazy. I am also going to try to do a few new projects for the blog and an upcoming magazine or two...um, sleep isn't really needed, is it?

If you want to learn more about the coop tour, read this blog post or join the City Chickens of Raleigh group on Facebook. I'll be out trying to decide if my hens are more Summers or Autumns. It's hard to put lipstick on a chicken.

See you soon!
Cynthia

Kathy King classes at Ornamentea
We are so proud to host Kathy King for a weekend of special classes here in our store May 22nd and 23rd. Kathy is a member of the Carolina Designer Craftsmen and her revolutionary bead quilling technique is one of the only really original things to come out in the seed bead world in years. Her fab book, Bead Quilled Jewelry has been a sellout success at our shop and on-line. Kathy will be teaching at Bead&Button in Milwaukee in June but you can take two of her classes here this month.Click on the class images for more information.Click here for a sneak peek inside her wonderful book!

PLEASE NOTE
Metals Club has been canceled for May. We'll meet again on June 9th. The fab faux-inlay project is still on-you'll just have to wait a bit longer for it! Thanks, metal freaks!
