Hello-
How are you? Hot? My family is beating the heat by generous amounts of time at our local library, the neighborhood swimming pool and the
NCMA. All three seem to cool us off beautifully. When we are at home my children are working on making the World's Largest Craft Mess in our living room. Nora is the Christo of construction paper (she tapes and staples it together into giant forms that fill the room) and Cleo is making origami cranes and penguins. Lots of origami cranes and penguins. We might start a zoo.
We are also packing for a trip to the mountains this week. At this stage, it is mostly me creating my own Christo-like piles of sheets, towels, craft supplies, hiking boots and books. I always take crazy amounts of books on trips as though I will have time to read. Hah.

KidsWork Wednesday all summer long! Bring your 5-12 year old in for a project or two every Wednesday and you can enjoy a few peaceful moments watching your child create something new while you get a few minutes to finish up something you've been working on. Every Wednesday from 2:00-5:00, all projects $2.

Dazzling Diamond Chain Maille earrings class and you'll make something that will amaze and delight you. Chain Maille is an ancient linked-rings technique that can be used to create lacy and elegant designs. Janet is a very patient teacher.

Join us for Technique Thursday every week at Ornamentea from 6:30-8:30. Registration is not required, visit the page to see some of the projects you can learn to create.
Friday is
Breakfast & Beads. Join us for some early-morning craft time at our work tables. We'll have coffee, tea and breakfast treats ready to go for you. We also have fun, age-appropriate activities for your child to do in our classroom, from blocks to crafts.
