June 28, 2010: Happy Independence Day!

Hello-
Ahh! it's almost July! how did that happen? My husband's birthday is the last day of June and somehow it always seems like the summer is really here when we celebrate his birthday. He's just three months older than I am but when I have a birthday I always round him up to the next age. He does not appreciate this.  He looks better and better the older he gets so I don't know why he's bothered by me adding a few months! This year his daughters made him a card and picked out two really great gifts and we'll wake him with home made blue-berry pancakes. I also have a pretty nice gift picked out but on the off chance he reads my newsletter today I am not telling you what it is!

Have a good week!
Cynthia

want to make your own blueberry pancakes? we pick our berries at Snikroc Farms in Durham. They're at 5220 Wake Forest Highway. They are open 'sunlight to no sunlight' which means you can pick in the early mornings or in the late evenings. They recommend the evenings as the bushes are in shade then.

Oh, they also have insanely good soft-serve ice cream with home made blueberry sauce. That opens at 4:00 on weekends, 6:30 on weekdays. It's worth the drive. They don't have a website but they are on facebook at Snikroc Farm and on twitter at snikroc_farm.
