July 13, 2010: Market Days
Ahh, the dog days of summer are here. It's super hot AND I spent some time last weekend at the SPCA trying really, really hard not to leave with about eleven dogs, six bunnies and three pet rats. I was there for volunteer training. My oldest daughter wants to volunteer with the animals and that means Mom or Dad has to take the classes and go with her. Since our family is too busy with chickens right now to commit to a full-time, live-with-us, furball I am happy to support her charitable urges. I learned a lot about the good work the SPCA does with pets in our area and was amazed at how many volunteers make that place hum. Read more here...
I hope I see you this weekend for one of our events. We'll have lovely beads from Lisa Daly (see more below) and the Designer's Downtown Market will be here on Saturday. Ahh, Locopops!
Lisa Daly Trunk Show! Join us July 16th and 17th for a trunk show of work by Raleigh glass bead maker Lisa Daly. Her work is brilliantly colored and often humorous and I can't stop collecting her beads...she'll be set up at Ornamentea on both days with a great selection of her newest work. Designer's Downtown Market
Join us on Saturday, July 17th for the Designer's Downtown Market right here on North West Street. The market starts early, at 9:00, so you can beat the heat. We'll open early on Saturday, too!

Friday is Breakfast & Beads. Join us for some early-morning craft time at our work tables. We'll have coffee, tea and breakfast treats ready to go for you. We also have fun, age-appropriate activities for your child to do in our classroom, from blocks to crafts.

Mark your calendar for August 21st, 9-12:00.
We'll have selected chairs, a sofa, tables, office desks, slat wall fixtures and more for sale AT PANOPOLIE on that date. I've also cleaned out Ornamentea's attic, so there will be lots of vases, bowls, plates, jars, candlesticks, lamps, mirrors and decor that you love and want to take home. Better-than-flea-market prices, all sales will be cash only. I'll post a few movies of some of the items on the blog in the next few weeks.
Please, don't call the store and ask if we can hold a specific item for you, just be there on August 21st!
