How are the Halloween costume plans going at your house? My daughters are polar opposites. One sister has wanted to be a cow since July. With the other sister we are on some kind of spinner from ballerina to tap dancer to princess to fairy to acrobat to clown. I cannot keep up with it and since many of the costumes involve the same bits of sparkly fabric rearranged in different ways I am not sure it matters if I do. I have one costume, a witch, and I wear it every year. I already have the shoes.
On Sunday I was headed out to a party with my cow and a tap dancer. When we needed to pop into Krispy Kreme to pick up some donuts for the party the tap dancer objected to me wearing my witch hat 'because people will stare at us." Somehow the fact that I was wearing a long black gown and holding the hand of a three-year-old cow would just blend right in.
I wore the hat. That is not the last time folks are gonna stare at her momma, she might as well get used to it.
