Fabric-Covered Neck Wire

Create a fabric-covered neck wire using one of our colorful cordings and 16 gauge wire. These neck wires are perfect for suspending pendants of all kinds and are so comfortable to wear.

We used Wubbers to create the large decorative loops at the ends of the neck wire. You can also use round nose pliers but the loops won't be as prominent.

Ingredients:

- 18 inches of fabric cording
- 30 inches of wire, 16 gauge
- 1 toggle closure
- 4 jump rings or 1" chain to attach toggle ring and bar

Tools:

- Wubbers or Round nose pliers
- Chain nose pliers
- Wire cutters
- Glue

1. Feed the fabric cording onto the length of wire until it is centered along the wire. If the cotton yarn inside the cording emerges trim the excess.

2. Place a small dot of glue inside one end of the cording. Push the cording over the glue. Using the Wubbers create a large loop and wire wrap the excess wire around and over the end of the cording. Tuck the wire end in as you wrap so that it does not poke the wearer. If any glue emerges wipe it off immediately.

3. Repeat with remaining end of the wire and cording.

4. Using chain links or jump rings attach the toggle loop and bar to the ends of the neck wire. Using jump rings attach your pendant to the center of the neck wire.
