Some mornings you just cannot decide; coffee, or tea? A dress or trousers? Walk or take the subway? These are the earrings for days like that. On the back of the sweet discs we've attached tiny mirrors.
Note: we've darkened the discs with a bit of Liver of Sulphur. This chemical speeds up the natural aging process of brass and will produce a slight darkening to a deep brown patina depending on exposure time.
*note, this should be a container you will not reuse for food or beverages
1. Follow the manufacturers directions to dilute the Liver of Sulphur gel in the glass container. Carefully wash the Oui and Non discs in strong dish soap to clean the surface. Place the discs in the Liver of Sulphur and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Remove discs, using a pair of copper tongs and rinse completely. Wipe discs dry with a paper towel. If the finish is too dark you can create highlights or brighten the finish by rubbing baking soda on the surface.
2. When discs are completely dry place a small dot of glue on the back on one of the discs and press the mirror into the glue. Repeat with the other disc. Allow to dry 24 hours.
3. Using your chain nose pliers, close the small dip on the kidney wire by pressing both sides together. This will create a more secure place to attach the charm dangle. Tie one section of the gingham ribbon onto a kidney wire just above the place where the dangle will be attached. With your scissors trim the ribbon ends if needed. Feed a rhinestone ball and a 4 mm bead onto the kidney wire above the ribbon.
4. Using your chain nose pliers open a jump ring and feed it through the ring on one of the charms. Close securely. Feed a second jump ring through the first jump ring and then through the dip on the kidney wire below where the bow is tied. Close securely. Repeat to create second earring.
