Welcome to the next level of wax carving. Again this class is divided into two sessions, and to take it, you will need to complete Introduction to Wax Carving. Each student must ship their own mixed media carving off to be cast in sterling silver. In the second session, you will work on finishing your project by cleaning it up and polishing it to the desired finish.
Students MUST take Introduction to Wax Carving before registering for this intermediate course.
Mixed Media - Part 1
In this round you will do the designing. We will build on your skills from the introductory class and sculpt a piece of your choice combining it with plastic elements. Each student is responsible for sending off the completed wax carving, by Monday, for casting.

Mixed Media - Part 2
In the second session, you will finish your project by cleaning it up, polishing it to the desired finish. Remember that each student is required to send your piece to the caster in time for the Part 2 class. Bring your cast piece to class to reinforce sprue cleaning and finishing techniques.
