Hello and welcome to Ornamentea.com. We are a crafty group of folks who have assembled a collection of goodies that we feel will change your creative life. We are not bragging, we are just very confident that our selection of Decopatch papers from France, wool roving from Nepal, brass filigree from the U.S. and ribbons from around the world will inspire new directions in your work. We are all artists ourselves, we love the tiny and the shiny and we know you do, too. We get excited by fancy rhinestone beads, wool felt balls, copper head pins and antique brass lockets. We fairly tremble at the sight of a new bottle of resin and some bezels and frame settings. We love keys, bats, birds, seahorses, octopi, filigree and fancy-smancy chains.

Our real world store is located in Raleigh, North Carolina and we’d love you to visit us and take a class or just sit at the in-store worktables and, well, work on something. We have workshops and classes, even more fab goodies than we can possibly put on line, including vintage and one-of-a kind do-dads. Our sister store, Panopolie, is here in Raleigh too. They have even more papers including items by 7Gypsies, and loads of those paper mache animals from France. If you need a six inch paper stegosaurus, they have it. Who am I? I am Cynthia Deis. I started Ornamentea when my own jewelry design business outgrew the stock-room and once I taught a few people to bead I never looked back. I love encouraging people to make things. I believe we all have the ability to be creative – we just need to give ourselves time and the permission to do something we have never done before. I have written a book, Beading With Filigree and I author a blog, shiny little things that is all about my life as a mom, artist and entrepreneur.
